1 To calculate the weight (kgs) of a quantity of paper, given the number of sheets, the gsm and the sheet dimensions
weight = length (m) x sheet width (m) x gsm x number of sheets a total weight of kgs

e.g. What's the weight of 1500 sheets of SRA2 120gsm?
weight = 0.450 x 0.640 x 120 x 1500 =  a total weight of 51.84 kgs

2 To calculate the number of sheets per metric tonne, given the sheet dimensions and gsm
sheets per metric tonne = 1,000,000 = sheets

e.g. How many sheets of SRA2 120gsm are in 1 metric tonne?
sheets per metric tonne = 1,000,000 =  28,935 sheets

3 To calculate the gsm of a quantity of sheets given the total weight of sheets, the number of sheets and the sheet dimensions
gsm = weight (kgs) x 1000 = gsm
sheet length (m) x sheet width (m) x number of sheets Calculate
e.g. What is the gsm of 1500 sheets of SRA2 weighing 51.84kgs?
gsm = 51.84 x 1000 =  120 gsm
0.450 x 0.640 x 1500
4 To calculate the weight (kgs) per thousand sheets, given the gsm and sheet dimensions
weight = gsm x sheet width (m) x sheet length (m) kgs per thousand sheets

e.g. What is the weight in kgs per thousand sheets of SRA2 120gsm?
weight = 0.450 x 0.640 x 120gsm =  34.56 kgs per thousand sheets

price per tonne = 63.94 x 1000 =  a price of £1850.00 per metric tonne
