Carbonless Papers

Idem Self Contained

Self-contained carbonless papers are special grades of carbonless copy paper designed to enable the manufacture of forms without the need for the usual top, middle and bottom leaves of a standard carbonless set. The advantage they give is in the flexibility of combining other papers into the set, or for use in ribbonless entry systems.

Two main types are available, SC 55 and SC CB61. See below for details.

Self Contained SC 55

Self Contained SC 55 is a special self-contained grade of Idem providing a method of producing a multi-part form using standard paper as top sheet, e.g. a letterhead grade and the self-contained sheet as the second sheet in the set.

Self Contained SC 55 works because the self-contained sheet contains CB microcapsules that rupture when pressure is applied to the top sheet and can produce the required image within the self-contained sheet without the need for the usual CF surface on the receiving sheet.

Self Contained SC CB61

Self Contained SC CB61 is a special CB coated self-contained grade of Idem which provides a method of producing multi-part forms for use in ribbonless entry systems.

Use Self Contained SC CB61 as the top sheet, and a standard Idem middle sheet and bottom sheet to follow.
